THE SUMMER DOWN UNDER
The Summer Down Under Wheelchair Road Racing Series is the highest profile wheelchair sporting event in Australia. Since 1990, the Series has grown from a single race to a world renowned international competition attracting the finest wheelchair athletes from across the globe. The 2016 GIO Summer Down Under Series will feature a training camp, two track meets and the iconic Oz Day 10K. As in previous years the Oz Day 10K will commence Australia Day celebrations in the foreshore area of Sydney. Track racing ranges from the 100m event through to 5,000m conducted on an athletics track. Athletes are classified by internationally recognised classifiers into classes on their level of functional ability.
